Evidently there is a dating site that only allows people to join who have been voted visually beautiful by the group:
Britons are among the ugliest people in the world, according to a dating website that says it only allows "beautiful people" to join.
Fewer than one in eight British men and just three in 20 women who have applied to BeautifulPeople.com have been accepted, an emailed statement from the website showed.
Existing members of the "elite dating site" rate how attractive potential members are over a 48 hour period, after applicants upload a recent photo and personal profile.
Let's see: shallow. No. Petty. No. Self-Absorbed. Not quite. Vacuous. Hmmm. This is a tough one. What is the best way to describe people who only date people whom are determined to be visually stunning, not by themselves, but by a group consensus, and who help others rate people as being physically beautiful enough or not physically beautiful enough to date?
I have to wonder if it would be better to be on a date with someone who robbed you or on a date with someone who will steal your car than with someone that requires you to pass a beauty test from strangers before they will even say "hi".
I'm all for people dating attractive people. Who wants to date someone whom they don't find attractive? My concern is that these people don't think for themselves or worse, they are more concerned what others think than finding someone who they find attractive, engaging, and fun.
If you won't date someone unless strangers rate them as attractive enough to date, you have demonstrated you believe you have no worth except by what others think, ergo you are worthless.
Worthless! That's the word!
